As a network of networks, MOCAN collaborates with partners across the state to increase postsecondary attainment.

Professional Development Institute

Professional Development Institute

The Professional Development Institute (PDI) is the trusted resource for college and career advisors. PDI offers free, in-person and online training for high school counselors and community organizations advising students on financial aid, career pathways, and other topics of postsecondary planning. All PDI resources are available for free via the PDI Portal on Canvas.

My Scholarship Central

My Scholarship Central, is a free, online portal connecting more than 17,000 Missouri students to 200+ scholarships to help make college more affordable. Over $16 million is awarded through My Scholarship Central each year.

Professional and leadership development of professionals supporting students to completion once enrolled in higher education. Read more about PEN.

Kansas City College and Career Attainment Network (KCCAN)

The Kansas City College and Career Attainment Network (KCCAN) is a regional network dedicated to increasing postsecondary attainment for low-income students in metro Kansas City. KCCAN led the engagement of 75+ people in developing the community strategic plan and will coordinate its implementation. KCCAN launched the KCCAN Advising Program in 2025-26, placing college and career advisors in six Kansas City Public Schools high schools.

KC FAFSA Initiative

Through the KC FAFSA Initiative MOCAN brings together partners to increase FAFSA completion for Kansas City metro students in under-resourced high schools. Area college students are trained as FAFSA Ambassadors to provide support at community FAFSA events. In 2024-25, the KC FAFSA Initiative led to a 15.4% year-over-year increase in KCMO, outpacing the state. The KC FAFSA Initiative is now a part of the KCCAN initiative.

TRHT Campus Center

MOCAN is the only nonprofit organization designated as a Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center through the American Association of Colleges & Universities. MOCAN’s TRHT plan includes leadership institutes for campus administrative leaders and students, and building a stronger ecosystem of professionals through the Community Within the Network.

Missouri College & Career Attainment Network

Boniface Scholars Postsecondary Success Initiative

A three-year initiative in St. Louis to increase persistence and graduation rates for students in partner middle schools, college access organizations and higher education institutions.

MOFAFSA.ORG

MOCAN and partners created a website to help counselors, students and parents find the information they need to complete the FAFSA. Visit MOFAFSA.org for the most up-to-date information for Missouri students, parents and counselors.

rootED Missouri

rootEd Missouri

MOCAN supports rootEd Missouri’s work in 174 rural high schools across Missouri through training and career advising resources. Learn more about the rootEd Alliance.

MDHEWD Adult Learners Network

MOCAN participates in the Adult Learner Network to increase postsecondary opportunities for adult learners, including those who have some college credit but no degree. MOCAN partnered with MDHEWD in creating the state’s strategic plan to increase attainment among adult learners.
