Shannon Keys
Shannon Keys is one of the inaugural College and Career Advisors with KCCAN, proudly serving at Central High School. With over 15 years of experience supporting diverse and high-risk youth, Shannon is a passionate advocate for empowerment, equity, and opportunity. Her career has been deeply rooted in TRIO programs, including GEAR UP and Upward Bound. Through GEAR UP, she had the unique opportunity to support students in the child welfare system and those involved with the Kansas Department of Corrections. As a former Upward Bound Advisor and Recruiter, she served Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS) students. Shannon is an active voice for youth in foster care and currently serves on the Kansas BRAVE Community Board. Her work is informed not only by professional expertise but also by lived experience, making her a powerful and empathetic leader in the field. A proud first-generation college graduate from Kansas State University, Shannon understands firsthand the transformative power of mentorship and access. Her mission aligns seamlessly with KCCAN’s vision, and she continues to lead with heart, purpose, and a deep commitment to lasting impact.
