Mako Miller
Mako Miller is the inaugural Director of the Kansas City College and Career Attainment Network (KCCAN), MOCAN’s first regional network. In this role, Mako is leading the development of a community strategic plan to increase postsecondary attainment for low-income students and the launching of a new advising program in Kansas City. A first-generation college graduate, Mako has dedicated her career to increasing opportunity for students. She launched the Professional Career Escalators Program at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and served as the Career Services Manager for Kauffman Scholars. Previous roles included academic advising and admissions for Metropolitan Community College-Longview and Kansas State University. Mako earned her Doctor of Education from the University of Kansas and her Master’s Degree in Higher Education Administration from UMKC. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Kansas State University. Mako is currently participating in the Centurions Leadership Program through the Greater Kansas City Chamber of Commerce.
