Elizabeth Mounteer
Elizabeth Mounteer is the inaugural Advising Director of the Kansas City College and Career Attainment Network (KCCAN). Elizabeth will be leading the new advising program in partnership with Kansas City Public Schools (KCPS). She is a proud graduate of KCPS as an alumna of Lincoln College Preparatory Academy. She is a mother, a lifelong learner, and a first-generation college graduate. Elizabeth graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Languages & Literatures with a French emphasis from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. She also earned her master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from UMKC. Elizabeth is currently in a doctoral program for Higher Education Administration at the University of Kansas. Before her role with KCCAN, she spent a decade working in the college access field on both sides of the state line. Most recently, she served on the MOCAN KC FAFSA initiative task force and the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) 2025 accreditation committee for Institutional Effectiveness, Resources and Planning for the University of Kansas. She is passionate about the arts, college access, and civic engagement. She believes in the power of community and working together to make Kansas City a better place for all.
