Position: My Scholarship Central Manager

Supervisor: Strategy Director, Access and Affordability

Salary Range: $55,000 to $60,000

About MOCAN:

The Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN) transforms lives by creating more equitable, statewide postsecondary education outcomes. MOCAN does this by increasing postsecondary access, affordability, and completion for students living in low-income communities, particularly those who are Black, Hispanic, and rural students.

My Scholarship Central is a collaborative scholarship search and application platform connecting Missouri students to Missouri scholarships. My Scholarship Central is free to students, connecting them to more than 200 scholarship opportunities to pay for postsecondary education and training. More than 16,000 students use it each year. My Scholarship Central is free to scholarship providers as well, helping them to find students who qualify for their scholarship programs. More than $16 million was awarded to students through My Scholarship Central last year.

About the Position:

The My Scholarship Central Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the My Scholarship Central platform. While training on the specifics of the platform will be provided, it is critical that the manager is comfortable using and managing a technology platform. This manager will be building scholarship applications, processing student applications, setting up scholarship reviews, providing reports, and answering help desk questions using an existing platform. No coding or programming experience is needed.

The manager will also serve as the front-line contact for students and scholarship providers; as such customer service skills are essential. The manager will be working with more than 60 non-profit partners who collaborate with My Scholarship Central to find students who meet their scholarships’ criteria and use the platform to make scholarship awards. The manager will be the first person to respond to questions from students and either responding to them or sending the questions to the appropriate scholarship representative.

The manager will also represent My Scholarship Central and MOCAN at conferences, student and family presentations, and college fairs across the state of Missouri.

This can include ensuring students who apply to a specific scholarship program meet eligibility criteria, supporting scholarship application reviews, supporting counselors and others who are providing letters of recommendation on behalf of students, and assisting scholarship providers with awarding scholarships to students via the My Scholarship Central platform. No coding or programming is required but must be willing to learn the platform well enough to help others in using it.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for students who are using My Scholarship Central. Create help desk materials, such as short instructional videos and FAQs. Answer inquiries to the My Scholarship Central support email.
  • Collect, analyze and report on My Scholarship Central data. Generate reports that ensure scholarship applications are on track to meet the goals of each individual scholarship program.
  • Represent My Scholarship Central and MOCAN at conferences and college fairs. Present on My Scholarship Central and the financial aid process to students and families. Communicate with students, counselors and providers through e-mail, e-newsletters and social media.
