Student Success Learning Institute “Innovating for Impact: High-Impact Practices that Advance Career Readiness and Student Success”
November 5 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm CST

Student Success Learning Institute – “Innovating for Impact: High-Impact Practices that Advance Career Readiness and Student Success” will be led by Dr. Tia McNair, Partner at SOVA and national expert on student success, author and former director of AAC&U’s Truth, Racial Healing and Transformation Center (TRHT) Initiative.
High-impact practices (HIPs) such as internships, undergraduate research, service learning, and first-year experiences can be powerful drivers of both career readiness and academic achievement—when they are intentionally designed. This session explores evidence-based strategies for designing, scaling, and assessing HIPs that cultivate essential career competencies, foster belonging, and improve student outcomes.
Participants will examine models that integrate curricular and co-curricular learning, identify key design principles for inclusive participation, and leave with actionable approaches to align HIPs with institutional goals for student success and workforce preparation.
The Institute will begin with an overview of the Life Coaching Program at Maryville University by Dr. Jennifer McCluskey, Vice President for Student Success and Alicia Wojciuch, Director of Academic Success & Life Coaching. They will share highlights on the holistic support Maryville University Life Coaches provide for students on their journey.
Attendance is free but pre-registration is required. Register Here.
