Position: College & Career Advisor, Kansas City College and Career Attainment Network (KCCAN)
Supervisor: Advising Director, KCCAN
Salary Range: $55,000 – $70,000
About MOCAN:
The Missouri College and Career Attainment Network (MOCAN) transforms lives by creating
more equitable, statewide postsecondary education outcomes. MOCAN does this by increasing
postsecondary access, affordability, and completion for students living in low-income
communities, particularly those who are Black, Hispanic, and rural students.
MOCAN has an exciting opportunity for an energetic and experienced college & career access
professional to implement an advising program in Kansas City through the new Kansas City
College and Career Attainment Network or KCCAN.
KCCAN’s work is two-fold:
- Coordinating development and implementation of a regional strategic plan for college
access and success for low-income students in Kansas City. - Advising students and families on postsecondary planning, FAFSA, financial aid, and
career pathways in support of partner school districts and community organizations.
About the Position:

information they need to make an informed postsecondary decision. MOCAN intends to onboard
five college & career advisors as part of this team in support of KCPS. Ideally, advisors will
begin on July 14, 2025 to allow sufficient time for pre-service training before their embedded

families, and KCCAN/MOCAN staff. - Maintain timely data entry in a secure, cloud-based platform, leveraging the data as a key
tool for postsecondary advising. - Utilize metrics, a case management system, and data tracking in collaboration with
partners to monitor progress and ensure effective delivery of services. - Work with MOCAN staff to engage Kansas City area professionals in MOCAN programs
and services, including professional development workshops and My Scholarship Central. - Participate in MOCAN staff meetings and activities as required. Other duties as assigned.
