Board Member Jerron
Chair
Jerron M. Johnson
Executive Director
Missouri College Advising Corps
Jerron M. Johnson is the Executive Director of the Missouri College Advising Corps (MCAC), a college access program headquartered at the University of Missouri-Columbia that recruits recent college graduates as full-time, near-peer college advisers in partner high schools statewide with high percentages of low-income and first-generation college students. MCAC launched in 2008 with the mission of empowering Missouri students to go to college and succeed. MCAC helps students and their families view college as an attainable goal; provides information and assistance with college admissions, financing, and planning processes; increases college enrollment among partner schools; and provides students the knowledge and tools to persist through and graduate from college. Prior to MCAC, Jerron served as the Chief Program Officer for the Missouri Community Service Commission, providing leadership for oversight, monitoring, and technical assistance functions to national service organizations across the state as well as mentorship to state service commission staff in neighboring states. He also led a nonprofit program that placed 40 full-time AmeriCorps members in St. Louis Public Schools to combat illiteracy among elementary school students and provide mentorship to middle school students. Jerron is a St. Louis native who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University and a Master’s degree in Public Affairs from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
